fieldtrip the 2nd to GANGHWA island

the second field trip for exchange students, organized by the international center, was this time much more attractive because of the nice weather and the blooming trees of springtime. it's now really the most beautiful time here in korea. furthermore we were not supposed to wear stupid 'i love inha' shirts like the first time. at the meeting point in the morning we got some nice, small breakfast, containing a small pack of milk and a cookie. the bad thing then was that the chinese students, which made 80% of the group, are apperently alltogether not used to ride a bus, don't ask me how else they travel, because many got carsick and next to stopping all the time one guy in front of us puked his breakfast in the bus. what i nice start.
the first scheduled stop was an old fortress where koreans fought against some invaders in the past, coming from the sea. we had a guide who explained everything well in chinese and even, nobody could dream of, one of our international center workers even translated the explanations partly to english. it feels like we changed something in our year here. after lunch, to fill up chinese stomaches, we got off at the gwanghwa dolmen, the biggest out of 150 stone graves on the island. honestly, the more important thing was the korean army who formed a group of tanks for a practise right next to on the parking place. as third and last destination, we visited a buddhist temple which is built on terraces surrounded by just nature. it was even more interesting because the monks prepared all buildings and the whole area for buddhas 'coming day' which was held on the day after our trip and i smelled again the calming incense burners.
the ride home was without special incidents, maybe because we changed to the second bus, but i didn't ask if they had some fun again in the other bus.
